Item: GL-23 I can't say enough good things about the quality of this piece. I wish I could let the picture do the talking, but with my current digital camera a picture is only worth a hundred or so words, mostly a type that shouldn't be repeated here. This wine glass is handblown, and the stem has two sets of hand-cut facets plus an elongated air-trap bubble. The etching is quite finely detailed and guilded. The glass is thin with a high, clean tone when lightly tapped. Based on design and quality, I thought this might be St. Louis work, but that line of research came up empty. Still, they are almost certaily 19th century French or Austrian work. We have four availble in this size. Don't miss the listing for the smaller size as well. Capacity to the rim is about 2 ounces, which I think makes this either a wine or sherry glass. Height is about 4 3/4". Condition is excellent, even on the gold. Of course, all our sales are fully guaranteed. Price is $145 each (four available) plus $5.25 for Priority Mail and insurance within the U.S. International shipping rates quoted on request. To buy an item (or more), just get in touch through the e-mail link, or you can call us at 812-467-0191. (A busy signal is still common since we only have one phone line.) Identify the item by the title or some other description (and we will be using stock numbers soon to cope with a larger site). If we don't answer an e-mail within 36 hours, assume something went wrong, and try again. Make sure the address reads ginfor@earthlink.net. We'll confirm that the item is still available, make sure we agree on the total, and answer any questions you wish to throw our way. Checks or money orders should be made "Forrest OR Virginia Poston". We also take Paypal (including credit card payments). We try to ship in one or two days after payment arrives, and we're generous with the bubblewrap and styrofoam peanuts. If you're still nervous, you can check our eBay feedback under the username ginfor. If there's something you'd like us to find for you, let us know. We're just itching to please you, or maybe that was Poison Ivy we got into. Remember that all proceeds go to support good causes: my spouse, our cats (see the "staff" here), our creditors, my auction addiction, and the plumbing project that never ends. |
