Item: GL-2 This glass sculpture is titled A Faun's Afternoon and was done by Hadeland Glass of Norway. It also has the initials of three of the artists involved, including Gerd Slang and Willy Johannsen. The copper wheel engraving shows a faun playing a flute, done in a style suggesting the cave paintings of Lescaux and some ancient Scandinavian art. It's a fascinating and wonderfully executed design, marked as 10 of 30 made. Height is about 7 1/4". This is a very large, solid piece of glass, coming in about 12 pounds, but the clarity and quality are still suberb. Condition is fair. There's a very light scratch on the front to the left of the faun's head, and an area low on a back corner appears to have been chipped, possibly ground. It could even be a flaw that was taken care of at the factory. You can see this flaw in the picture of the mark, but the picture exaggerates the look. Neither problem really detracts from the appearance. Of course, all our sales are fully guaranteed. Price is $845 plus $19.95 Priority Mail and insurance within the U.S. International shipping on request. E-mail us To buy an item (or more), just get in touch through the e-mail link, or you can call us at 812-467-0191. (A busy signal is still common since we only have one phone line.) Identify the item by the title or some other description (and we will be using stock numbers soon to cope with a larger site). If we don't answer an e-mail within 36 hours, assume something went wrong, and try again. Make sure the address reads ginfor@earthlink.net. We'll confirm that the item is still available, make sure we agree on the total, and answer any questions you wish to throw our way. Checks or money orders should be made "Forrest OR Virginia Poston". We also take Paypal (including credit card payments). We try to ship in one or two days after payment arrives, and we're generous with the bubblewrap and styrofoam peanuts. If you're still nervous, you can check our eBay feedback under the username ginfor. If there's something you'd like us to find for you, let us know. We're just itching to please you, or maybe that was Poison Ivy we got into. Remember that all proceeds go to support good causes: my spouse,
our cats (see the "staff"
here), our creditors, my auction addiction, and the plumbing
project that never ends. |
